About Sandy

So why do I do it?  Photograph people?  Plain and simple, I just can’t help myself.   I absolutely love trying to catch that “perfect” shot.  Not the one necessarily with perfect hair and the perfect smile, but the one that captures the soul sparkle of my subject.  One that leaves the viewer laughing or crying or just feeling like they know that person in the photo, even if they don’t.   There’s just something so unique and special about a simple photograph.   There aren’t too many possessions in our life that are as treasured as our photographs.  They are our link to the past, to our memories.   They are our history, our legacy for the generations that come after us.  They are our gift to our children.  How are they to ever remember, I mean really remember, their childhood without photographs.  They are the key that unlocks all the memories that we have in our heads.  They paint the picture to go with the stories in our minds.  They are priceless.

And that, my friends, is why I do it.    Well, that, and the fact that my own children won’t let me take their pictures anymore.

Here are a few Sandy facts to help you get to know me.  {{wink, wink}}

Married to the same guy for going on 25 years!  Half my life people!!!  (I’m soooooooooooo old!!)

3 kids that call me their mom – drive me crazy – - put up with me – love me.  Stephanie (22), Ryan (20) & Kelly (16)

2 animals, (1 canine, Gidget and 1 feline, Rocky) that fill my life with 4 legged love and lot’s of hair.

I require exactly 2.3 cups of coffee every morning.  Oh and a cookie to go with.  =}

I’m constantly trying to organize my life.  I no sooner organize one area and another one goes to pot.  (sigh)   Although I just know that this is the year to finally conquer my piles!

After 20 years of driving a minivan, I finally got a cute little SUV and I feel like a teenager again.  =}

I’ve colored my hair for 20+ years.  I fear it’s a losing battle.

If I hit the lottery I would … hmmmm… redecorate my house, or maybe buy a new one.  Travel to Ireland.  It’s the one place outside of the US that I would like to visit.  It’s where 1/2 of my family came from way back once upon a time.  Oh, and buy the new Nikon D4 that just came out this week!  Cha Ching!! :)
